I'll never know what it's like giving birth but this website gave me some idea :)
TerenceKearns.com has been around in various forms before. Most recently as the front for my web development business. Since I have switched careers to photography, I have reinvented the site. It was a big job implementing a sophisticated content management system (CMS) into the backend which drives the menu and page content. This will make it easy for me to update the site and keep information fresh.
Next on the to-do list is to implement the [vast] photo galleries so that you can have access to the prim stash of stills :)
The gallery will be your portal or ordering prints online and purchasing stock photos from my collection. Customers will also be able to have [private] galleries on request as part of any product that I offer them. I will also update the editorial content with more imagery to make the site less bland.
The site was designed in subdued aesthetic in order not to detract from the slideshow feature which showcases some of my work. A lot of effort went into the scripting (JavaScript) interface to make sure that the slideshow and the music is uninterrupted (for those who choose not to hide it). I wrote a function which intercepts ALL hyperlinks on the page and either loads data from the CMS dynamically or opens another window for any external links. So roll on music, roll on slide show.
I hope it was worth the effort and you enjoy your web experience on this site. You can be sure that the images and content on the site will be kept up to date. You may even learn something from the knowledge area. So make sure you make a point of bookmarking it and popping in from time to time. I'll keep the blogging the News area with the latest industry developments.
I'd especially like to thank Theo Howard for his generous donation of silky smooth beats to complement my slideshow. I know you all will appreciate it. Please visit his site and let him know you appreciate his work.
I would really appreciate it if you could email me some feedback about this site. I especially need to know if there are any problems or concerns with it. Don't be afraid to knit pick. I like to know how I am coming across.
Aloha.
